Frederick Raymond Kingrey, the son of Priscilla Jane Clark and Frank Kingrey, was born on May 21, 1902 in Marion County, one of nine children. He passed away on Sunday, October 22, 1989 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital after a long illness. He was 87 years, 5 months and 1 day old.
Mr. Kingrey was married to Mabel Deitrick on December 31, 1921 in Knoxville, Iowa. To this union, five children were born. Fred farmed in Marion County for many years. He and Mabel moved to Knoxville from the farm in 1951. Fred also worked for twenty-five years at the Maytag Co. in Newton, retiring in 1964. Fred and Mabel moved to Pershing in 1953 and lived there until returning to Knoxville in 1989.
Mr. Kingrey was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister and one great-grandson.
Survivors are his wife Mabel of Knoxville; one son, Donald Kingrey of Monroe; four daughters, Mrs. Armond (Fredene) Ravera of Knoxville, Mrs. Robert (Marcellene) Nichols of Knoxville, Mrs. Donald (Colleen) Haug of Knoxville, and Mrs. Wilbur (Esther) Groos of Prairie City; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Kingrey of Monroe; two sisters; Cecil Schrader of Knoxville and Vera Hopkins of Knoxville as well as many other relatives and friends.

Frederick Raymond Kingrey, 87, of Knoxville, a longtime resident of Marion County, died Saturday, October 21, 1989 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 24 at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. Elder Arthur Nichols and Elder William McDonald officiated at the services. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery at Knoxville.
Memorial contributions to the Knoxville Rescue Unit are being accepted.
Survivors are his wife, Mabel; a son, Donald of Monroe; four daughters, Mrs. Armond (Fredene) Ravera, Mrs. Robert (Marcellene) Nichols and Mrs. David (Colleen) Haug, all of Knoxville, and Mrs. Wilbur (Esther) Groos of Prairie city; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Cecil Schrader and Vera Hopkins, both of Knoxville; and a brother, Ernest K. Kingrey of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one sister, and a great-grandson.
The son of Frank and Priscilla Jane Clark Kingrey, he was born May 21, 1902 in Marion County.
He was married to Mabel Deitrick December 31, 1921 in Knoxville.
Mr. Kingrey farmed for many years in Marion County, and was an employee of the Maytag Company in Newton for 25 years, until his retirement in 1964. He and his wife moved from their farm to Knoxville in 1951, then moved to Pershing in 1953, where they lived until they returned to Knoxville in 1989.
