Services Held
Funeral services for Donald Kingrey, 75, of Monroe, were held Monday at Monroe United Methodist Church in Monroe with the Rev. Karen Merrill and the Rev. Warren McFate officiating.
Burial was in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
He died Friday, September 26, 1997, at Pella Community Hospital.
The son of Fred R. and Mabel Deetrick Kingrey, he was born September 5, 1922, in Dunreath.
He married Virginia Robuck, October 25, 1942, in Princeton, Missouri.
A lifelong resident of Monroe, he was employed by the Maytag Company for 30 years. He also owned a construction business. Mr. Kingrey was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Friends of the Library.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Larry of Marshalltown; a daughter, Karla Kaye Jordan of Monroe; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Fredene Ravera, Marcellene Nichols, and Colleen Haug, all of Knoxville and Esther Breen of Prairie City.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
