Services Held
Services for Isabell “Belle” Kingery were held Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at the Monroe First Baptist Church. Pastor Greg Baum of Fairfield officiated the services. Her body has been donated to the University of Iowa – College of Medicine.
Isabell passed away Friday, July 4, 2003, at her home in Monroe.
Memorials may go to Hospice of Pella.
Born October 31, 1924, in Chicago, Belle was the daughter of William Everett and Sylvia Warman Whittington. She graduated from high school in Chicago. January 1, 1944, she married Laurence R. Kingery at Bellevue Baptist Church in Chicago.
Belle had cooked at Gramma’s Kitchen, Casey’s, and Monroe Schools. She was a member of the Monroe First Baptist Church, was an AWANA leader, Church Bell Choir member, Children’s Bible Storyteller at Church and was an avid baker.
Survivors are her husband, Laurence R. Kingery of Monroe; four sons and daughters-in-law, Russ (Rusty) and Marlys Kingery of Kabetogama, Minnesota, Ray (Hap) and Dale Kingery of Iowa City, Ronald (Skip) and Virg Kingery of Des Moines, Roger and Lynette Kingery of Earlham; one daughter and son-in-law, Cookie and Steve Eckard of Earlham. She also leaves 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Belle was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister.
