James F. Kinart Dies Here Today, Retired Farmer
James F. Kinart, 77, died at Skiff Memorial hospital this morning at nine o’clock as the result of a stroke suffered Thanksgiving Day.
Mr. Kinart was a retired farmer and had lived in the Newton area for 48 years. He was born in Marion county on March 30, 1873, to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Kinart and was educated in Marion and Jasper county schools.
In February of 1902, Mr. Kinart was married to Effie Kellums in Prairie City and the couple then took up farming in Jasper county. Mrs. Kinart preceded him in death seven years ago.
Mr. Kinart is survived by five children, Mrs. Fred Gooding of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Lloyd Van Note of Grand Island, Neb., Mrs. Robert Neasham of Newton, Mrs. John Tschopp of State Center and Wayne Kinart of Newton. He was preceded in death by three sons who died in infancy.
Other survivors are five grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Tool of Newton, and three brothers, Ralph and John Kinart of Monroe and Will Kinart of Newton. Two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o’clock in the Johnson-Murdoch Funeral Home and burial will be in the Wittemberg cemetery. Mr. Kinart was a member of the Wittemberg Grange and the Wittemberg church.
