Flora Jane Kinart Dies June 28
Flora Jane Kinart, daughter of John T. and Maria (Whitted) Woody, was born September 3, 1873, at Monroe. She received her education in the Monroe schools and Pella college. On February 22, 1899, she was united in marriage to John A. Kinart who preceded her in death in 1961. Since the death of her husband she has been making her home with her children.
Mrs. Kinart passed away in the Collins Hospital at Knoxville on June 28, 1965, at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 28 days. She was a member of the Tool’s Chapel Methodist Church east of Monroe.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Lloyd, who died in infancy; son Doyle who passed away in 1961, two brothers, Albert and George Woody; three sisters, Mrs. Willard (Ellen) Byers, Mrs. Willy (Laura) Robison and Mrs. A. Q. (Ethel) Tool; and one granddaughter.
Two daughters survive her, Mrs. Edward (Sarah) Beyer and Mrs. Paul (Letha) Schakel, both of Monroe. Also two brothers, Arthur of Waupaca, Wisc. and Clyde of Madison, Wisc.; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held in the Monroe Baptist Church Thursday, July 1, 1965, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Arthur D. Mohr officiating. Casket bearers were grandsons: Russell Schakel, LaVerne Schakel, Harold Beyer, Harvey Beyer, David Beyer and john Kinart. Mrs. Devayne Honnold was organist and played “Rock of Ages” and “Abide With Me.”
Interment was in Silent City Cemetery at Monroe. Arrangements by Monroe Garden Chapel.
