Dr. J. C. Kepford Passes Away
Joseph Clarence Kepford was born in Blackhawk county, Oct. 20, 1875. He grew to manhood in Buchanan county. He was educated in the public schools and graduated from the high school at Independence. Later he studied dentistry and was graduated from the University of Iowa June 17, 1903.
Dr. Kepford located at Millford, Iowa. Here he met Miss Marie Haney and that friendship terminated in marriage May 19, 1910 at Lemon, S.D. To this union were born three children, Donna, Arlene and Rex. In addition to his family Dr. Kepford is survived by an aged father and mother, Rev. Joseph and Anna Kepford of Independence and brothers and sisters as follows: U. B. of Waterloo, A. E. of Des Moines, Miss Grace of Independence, M. P. of Modesto, Calif., and Mrs. Blanche Thomas of Puyallup, Wash.
He died at Monroe, Mar. 13, 1919 after a few days illness. Short services were held at the home Saturday afternoon.
While Dr. Kepford had not been in Monroe so very long, he had made many friends, who grieve and sympathize with the bereaved in their sorrow.
