Services for Florence M. Kennedy were held May 28, 2002, at the Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Interment was in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
Florence passed away May 25, 2002, at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.
Memorials to the Florence M. Kennedy Memorial Fund have been suggested by the family.
The daughter of John J. and Anna (Slykhuis) Kingery, Florence was born August 18, 1907, in Marion County. She was a lifelong resident of Jasper County living in Percy, Monroe, and Prairie City. She married O. Carl Kennedy April 7, 1928, in Knoxville. Florence enjoyed reading, music, and gardening.
Florence is survived by one son, Dwight Kennedy and his wife, Jean in Prairie City; one daughter, Erma Fulmer in West Des Moines; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Fern Kingery of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1985; four sisters, Della, Myrtle, Ora, and Opal; a brother, Floyd; and a son-in-law, Jim Fulmer.
