Services Held
Services for Orville D. Karr were held Monday, May 15, 2000, at the United Presbyterian Church in Monroe. Rev. Larry Gander, pastor, officiated the services. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.
Orville passed away on Friday, May 12, 2000, at his home in Monroe at the age of 64 years.
Orville DeWayne Karr, son of Fred and Wilda (Daubenspeck) Karr, was born in the Red Rock community of Marion County, Iowa, August 11, 1935. On July 4, 1988, he was united in marriage to Donna Kingery at Lake Red Rock. Orville was employed by the Monroe Feed Center for twenty-five years. He enjoyed camping, hunting mushrooms and playing softball.
Orville is survived by his wife Donna, five children; Jeri Lynn and husband Leroy Korte, Des Moines, Clayton Karr, Connie Karr, and Julie Koder and husband Jeff, all of Monroe, and Michael and wife Tonna Karr, Newton; six stepchildren; Deanna and husband Jeff Shannon, Monroe, Denise and husband Mike Rash, Altoona, Donnie Mattix, Des Moines, Danny and wife Mary Mattix of Monroe, Shawn Stewart, California and Shane and wife Debbie Stewart of Des Moines. Also surviving are twenty-five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two sisters: Bonnie Pearson, Knoxville and Ruth Cooney, Indianola and two brothers: Leland and Bob Karr, both of Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Grace, Millie and Lois, and three brothers: Lester, Herman and Merritt.
