Life Story of Mrs. Roy Karr
Mrs. Roy (Grace) Karr, 70, a longtime resident of the Monroe community, died Thursday at Pella Community Hospital.
Services were Saturday at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. Elder Arthur Nichols officiated and burial was in Monroe Silent City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Hugh Templeton, Dick DeJong, John Dykstra, Fred Smith, Herman DeHeer, and Clarence Bricker.
Surviving are her widower, Roy; a son, Bill of Monroe; three grandchildren, Mrs. John (Sharon) Hjortshoj of Monroe, Mrs. Phil (Sue) Clevenger of Iowa City, and Jennie Rae Karr at home; a great-granddaughter, Mia Clevenger of Iowa City; and two brothers, Paul Cronkhite of Knoxville and Harry Cronkhite of Spokane, Wash.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Augusta Powers, and a great-grandson, Shawn Hjortshoj.
Mrs. Karr was born April 6, 1899 at Flagler, in Marion County.
She was married April 5, 1925.
