Services Held
Services for Clyde Kenneth Karr, 93, of Monroe, were held Friday, April 14, 2000 at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella. Pastor Greg Baum, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Monroe, officiated the services. Interment was in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Pella have been suggested.
Clyde passed away Monday, April 10, 2000, at Pella Regional Health Center of congestive heart failure.
The son of William and Jennie Violet Talbout Karr, he was born October 9, 1906, in Knoxville. He married Vivian Balmer February 27, 1936.
A longtime resident of Monroe, Mr. Karr moved to Pella four months ago. He worked as a farmer and was employed by the Maytag Company in Newton. Mr. Karr was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monroe.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Viola and Ronald Pehne of Monroe, Janet and Hank Kriegel of Tama and Karla and Ronald Breckenridge of Pella; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, and a sister.
