Life Story Of Lena Banks
Mrs. George (Lena) Banks, 91, formerly of Newton, a lifelong resident of Jasper County died Thursday evening at the Jasper County Home.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Toland–Wallace Funeral Home in Newton.
The Rev. Morris Hay, pastor of the Hickory Grove Church, conducted the services. Burial was in Palo Alto Cemetery.
Survivors are a son, Clyde Banks of rural Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Laurine) Schultz of rural Newton; seven grandchildren; and eight great–grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968, two daughters and a son.
Mrs. Banks was a member of the Buena Vista Grange and the United Brethren Church, in which she was a baptized member since she was 14.
The daughter of John and Lena Meyers Eggert, she was born November 19, 1881, in Jasper County.
She was married December 14, 1904, in Monroe.
