Life Story of Eveleen Ammer
Mrs. Oscar (Eveleen A.) Ammer, 75, of Monroe and a longtime co–owner of a retail hardware business in Monroe, died Thursday at the Pella Community Hospital.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Monroe.
The Rev. Verlin Pulver, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church in Prairie City, and the Rev. Eldon Pals, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Monroe conducted the services. Burial was in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Neale (Jean) Strom of Jackson, Minn.; four grandchildren; and a sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1971.
Mrs. Ammer, who had been a teacher for a number of years, was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Prairie City and attended the First Baptist Church in Monroe.
The daughter of Jacob and Mila Danks Vaught, she was born Nov. 3, 1901 in Jasper County and attended Des Moines University and Iowa State University in Ames.
She was married Dec. 24, 1927.
