Life Story of Mrs. Erma Alloway
Mrs. Ivan (Erma) Alloway, 66, a long–time resident of Jasper County, died at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at the Jasper County Home southeast of Newton.
Mrs. Alloway had been a resident of the County Home for a month.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 31, at the Crumpacker Funeral Home at Monroe. Burial was in Monroe Cemetery.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. William (Iva) Swisher, Mrs. Ray (Opal) Downey and Mrs. James (Imogene) Coats, all of Newton; two sons, Charles of Newton and Delbert of Shakopee, Minn.; 22 grandchildren; and a great–grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter and two brothers.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McReynolds, she was born October 7, 1900 at Fairmount.
She was married to Ivan Alloway September 21, 1921 in Newton.
