Services Held
Funeral services for James Dewey Allen, 47, of Pella, a former resident of Monroe were held July 26, 1995, at the Church of the Nazarene in Pella.
The Rev. David L. Lovett conducted services.
Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.
Military graveside rites were conducted by the American Legion.
Memorials to Hospice of Pella or the Church of the Nazarene in Pella will be accepted.
Mr. Allen died Sunday, July 23, 1995, at his home.
Survivors are his wife, Karen; and three children, Jessica Lynne, James Daniel and Nicholas Ray, all of Pella.
Also surviving are two brothers, Duane of Farragut and Jerry of McComb, Illinois, and two sisters, Jeanine Miller of Des Moines and Jackie Oldham of Monroe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Mr. Allan was a member of the Pella Church of the Nazarene, serving on the church board and as treasurer of missions.
Mr. Allen, who served in the Navy for four years, worked at the Vermeer Manufacturing Co. in Pella from 1970 until he became ill in March 1994.
He was in the Jig department at the time of his retirement.
The son of Cecil and Inez Moss Allen, he was born October 27, 1947, in Knoxville and attended school in Knoxville and Monroe.
He was a 1966 graduate of Monroe Community High School. He participated in football and track and excelled in weightlifting.
He was married to Karen Sue Clark March 11, 1994.
