Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jess
Dies of Consumption

Olga Sedarica Jess was born at Davenport May 30, 1891, and died at the home six miles northwest of Newton December 1, 1912, at 10 a.m., aged 21 years, 6 months and 11 days. Olga graduated from the public schools at Davenport at the age of 14, and was always a friend to all who knew her. She came here with her parents three years ago last spring. Her last sickness, consumption and heart trouble, began last March and the past four months she had been bedfast most of the time.

Her suffering was severe but she kept up courage till lately. She knew all her loved ones the last morning and bid them farewell as it was best that she leave this earth.

Besides her parents Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jess, she leaves four brothers, John, Ferdinand, Harry and Carl, and two sisters, Margaret and Henrietta.

The funeral will be at the home Friday afternoon at two o'clock in charge of Rev. E. F. Leake of Newton. Burial will be made at the Metz cemetery.

The songs, by request, will be sung by Mrs. A. C. Herbold, Mrs. H. E. Hesson and Miss Grace Pink. The pall bearers will be Louis Jensen, August Greenhaupt, Louis Iske, John Bale, William Iske and Louis Scheel. ~ The Newton Daily News, December 12, 1912.
