Obituary of Charles Schrader

Charles Harry Schrader, 73, of Newton, passed from this life on Monday afternoon, January 25, 2016, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Newton

Charles was born February 20, 1942, in Des Moines, the son of Tommie A. and Allie M. (Morgan) Schrader, Jr. He was a graduate of the Newton Senior High School, Class of 1960. Charles was the youngest grandchild of Thomas and Martha Schrader, Sr.

Charles had lived in Kellogg, Rock Creek, Black Duck, MN and Newton. He farmed, and was employed as a plumber, park ranger, and as a delivery driver for C.G.B. Printing.

Charles was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed his family, the outdoors, wildlife, hunting and fishing.

Charles is survived by his daughters: Cris Burckel and Kelly Kirk; his four grandchildren: Nickolus Kirk, Jennifer Burckel, Jessica Burckel and Allie Kirk; his four great-grandchildren: his sister Phyllis (Mark) Emmack; his girlfriend for over 20 years: Janis Ray; a nephew Jeff (Elaine) Emmack; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Mark Emmack.

A time of Remembrance and services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, with burial at Our Silent City Cemetery in Kellogg. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the services on Saturday, at the Pence – Reese Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left in Charles' name with his family or NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness of Jasper County). ~ The Pence Reese Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa Mon 25 Jan 2016.
