Donna passed away Friday morning, December 11, 2015, at the Newton Village Health Care in Newton.
A Time of Remembrances for Donna will be held at a later date, at Pence ~ Reese Funeral Home in Newton, conducted by Pastor Gary Marzolf. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials have been designated in Donna’s name to Jasper County Animal Rescue League.
Donna Jean Parker, 81, the daughter of Ralph and Lillian Mae (Bisom) Beghtel, was born February 12, 1934, in Menlo, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Newton Senior High, Class of 1952.
On September 24, 1960, Donna was united in marriage with Dorman Edward Parker, at the First United Methodist Church in Newton. Donna devoted her life to her family and friends, and was employed as a secretary for the Maytag Company, retiring in 1989 after 37 years of service. Donna was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Elks Ladies. She enjoyed her flowers, her dogs and cats, and was a devout Iowa State University fan. ~ The Pence Reese Funeral Home, Newton, Iowa 11 Dec 2015.
