Linda Laffoon Dies Saturday: Rites Tuesday

Linda Sue Laffoon, 9, of 1401 S. 6th Ave E. a lifelong resident of Newton, died Saturday morning at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. Ray Barnett, pastor of the First Christian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Laffoon of Newton; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William James of Osceola; four brothers, Jerry Laffoon, Robert Tharp, Steve Laffoon and Warren Lee Laffoon, all of Newton; and two sisters, Mrs. Jim (Karen) Gunsaulus of Newton and Mrs. Larry (Judy) De Moss of Altoona.

Miss Laffoon was a third grade student at Aurora Heights Elementary School.

The daughter of Warren and Marceline James Laffoon, she was born Sept. 23, 1968 at Newton. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly the Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 24 Apr 1978.
