Lola Jepson, Former Newton Resident, Dies

Mrs. Paul J. (Lola A.) Jepson, 87, of Calvin Manor in Des Moines, a resident of Newton from 191 until 1965, died Saturday morning at the Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson-Reese Chapel.

The Rev. Raymond Barnett, pastor of the Christian Church in Newton, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Johnson-Reese Chapel until time of services.

Survivors are a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband in 1969.

Mrs. Jepson was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church in Des Moines, Daughters of the American Revolution, Eastern Star and White Shrine and was past president of the Plymouth Guild in Newton.

The daughter of Lucius D. and Lilla Atella Scales Stedman, she was born Aug. 21, 1890 in Chickasaw County, attended Chickasaw County schools and the University of Iowa at Iowa City.

She was married to Paul J. Jepson, former operator of Jepson Pharmacy and Jepson Travel Agency in Newton, June 20, 1912. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 24 Apr 1978.
