John Kinnaird Dies: Service Held Recently

GILMAN - Funeral services for John Kinnaird, 90, of Gilman, a longtime Gilman and Grinnell area farmer, were held recently at the Pursel-Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown.

The Rev. Weldon Whitenack conducted services. Burial was in the Prairie View Cemetery near Gilman.

Survivors are four sons, Jack of Kellogg, Donald of newton, Robert of De Pere, Wis., and James of Green Forest, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Edgar (Agnes) Curl of Marshalltown and Mrs. Fred (Barbara) Campbell of Upland, Calif., and 17 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife in December, 1969.

The son of William and Isabella Esson Kinnaird, he was born Jan. 10, 1888 in Scotland and attended Scotland schools. He came to the United States in 1909.

He was married to Eleanor Godfrey Dec. 13, 1910 in Grinnell.

He died recently at the Embassy Manor Nursing Home in Newton. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 3 Apr 1978.
