Robert C. Raridon, Former Newton Resident, Dies

Robert C. Raridon, 50, of Atlanta, Ga., a former resident of Newton, died Friday evening at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Decatur, Ga.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home in Newton.

The Rev. Marvin Potter, pastor of the Newton United Presbyterian Church, will conduct services.

Burial will be in the Veterans Section of the Newton Union, Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by the Newton Veterans of Foreign wars Post No. 1655.

Survivors are his wife, Shirley; three sons, Mike of Dallas, Tex.,k Gary of Livermore, Calif., and Steve of Atlanta, Ga., two daughters, Linda Lowe and Mary, both of Livermore, Calif.; his mother, Mrs. Marjorie De Prenger of Newton; and four grandchildren.

Also surviving are two step-daughters, Sylvia Kvansy of Atlanta, Ga., and Cheri Kvansy of Reno, Nev.; two brothers, Dale and Duane Raridon, both of Newton; and a sister, Janice Clements of Sacramento, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father, George, in 1955.

Mr. Raridon was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a Navy veteran of World War II.

He had been a former mechanic at Sanders Motors and Axtell Ford.

The son of George and Marjorie Devitt Raridon, he was born June 23, 1927 at Hazelton, N.D., and attended Newton Community High School.

He was married to Shirley Kvansy Heifneder Sept. 5, 1977 in Reno, Nev. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 27 Mar 1978.
