Eva Kimmel, 81, Dies Thursday; Rites Saturday

Mrs. S. A. (Eva E.) Kimmel, 81, of 542 W. 10th St. N., a resident of Newton since 1927, died Thursday morning at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson-Reese Chapel.

The Rev. William E. Sexton, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today.

A memorial in Mrs. Kimmel's name has been established to the Easter Seal Society of Iowa.

Survivors are a son, Woodrow Kimmel of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Becky) Hindman of Newton; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Jeannette Pearson of Unionville, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1958, parents, a daughter, Maxine Manning in 1954, three sisters and two brothers.

Mrs. Kimmel was a member of the United Brethren Church.

Mrs. Kimmel was a machine operator at the Maytag Co. until her retirement in 1962.

The daughter of Nathaniel and Susan Robbins, she was born Aug. 14, 1896 in Graysville, Mo., and attended Graysville schools.

She was married Jan. 30, 1916 in Missouri. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly the Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Fri 24 Mar 1978.
