J.L. Wilsterman Dies Wednesday; Rites Saturday

Jesse L. Wilsterman, 83, formerly of 302 E. 10th St. S., a resident of Newton since 1926, died Wednesday afternoon at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Foursquare Church.

The Rev. Ellis Ryherd, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Friday.

Survivors are a brother, Alzie Wilsterman of Montezuma; a brother-in-law, Fred W. Kling of Newton; and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Earl (Betty) Vogelaar of Newton, Mrs. Lowell (Grace) Meredith of Kellogg, Mrs. Joe (Carrie) Kies of Newton and George Kling of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Laura Jan. 12, 1977 and an infant son, Karl Edward.

Mr. Wilsterman was a member of the Foursquare Church.

Prior to his retirement he was employed by the Jasper Mutual Insurance Co.

The son of Dunlap and Henrietta Diehl Wilsterman, he was born July 31, 1894 in Jasper County.

He was married to Laura A. Kling Dec. 25, 1913 at Kellogg. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly the Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Thurs 23 mar 1978.
