James Heaverlo, Former Newton Resident, Dies

James Lloyd Heaverlo, 51, of Council Bluffs, a former resident of Newton, died Thursday evening at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha, Neb.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the McCurdy Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Council Bluffs.

Survivors are his wife, the former Lowene Harson; sons, Michael of Marshalltown, Jeff of Norwalk, Stanley of Colorado and Steven and Jimmy, both of Council Bluffs; daughter, Linda Heaverlo of Council Bluffs; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, Don of Australia and David of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John.

The son of Lloyd E. and Catherine Elizabeth Guessford Heaverlo, he was born June 18, 1926 at Newton and was graduated from Newton Community High School. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly the Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 27 Feb 1978.
