William Pink Dies Sunday; Rites Wednesday

William Arthur Pink, 91, of the Jasper County Care Facility, who resided on a farm southeast of Newton for many years, died Sunday afternoon at the Facility.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Johnson-Reese Chapel.

The Rev. Morris Hay, pastor of the Hickory Grove Church and Chaplain of the Jasper County Care Facility, will conduct services. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Johnson-Reese Chapel after noon Tuesday.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Gretchen) Strohman of Earp, Calif., Mrs. Carolyn Lowis of Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. William (Melba) Longren of Davenport; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife on Jan. 27, 1978, three brothers and four sisters.

Mr. Pink was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church, southeast of Newton.

The son of Richard and Katherine Pink, he was born Dec. 9, 1886 on a farm southeast of Newton and attended rural Newton schools.

He was married to Pearl A. Neff Mar. 24, 1905 at Fairmont. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 27 Feb 1978.
