Services Friday For Glen Parrish; Dies on Wednesday

Funeral services for Glen Parrish, 54, of 2202 S. 5th Ave. E., a resident of Newton since 1956, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Community Heights Alliance Church.

The Rev. Ian Hoover, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Toland-Wallace Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Parrish, who resided in Oskaloosa before moving to Newton, died Wednesday morning at his home after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Survivors are his wife, Jean, two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Kathy) Ratcliff of Newton and Mrs. Steven (Sandra) Patterson of Reasnor, seven grandchildren and his mother Mrs. Edna Parrish of Russell.

Also surviving are two brothers, Wayne Parrish and Dale Parrish, both of Russell, and two sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Pauline) Stevens of Knoxville and Mrs. Delbert (Coleen) Seamen of Albia.

He was preceded in death by his father, a grandson, a sister and a brother in infancy.

The son of William and Edna Meyers Parrish, he was born Dec. 20, 1923 at Lacona.

He was married to Jean Bonnett Jan. 28, 1945 in Chariton.

Mrs. Parrish owned and operated Glen's Conoco Service Station.

Mr. Parrish was a member of the Moose Lodge. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Thur 2 Feb 1978.
