Lloyd N. Yates Dies Tuesday; Services Friday

Lloyd N. Yates, 47, of 408 E. 21st St. S., a lifelong resident of Newton, dies Tuesday evening at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. B. L. Payne, pastor of the Immanuel Baptist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Veterans Section of the Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Toland-Wallace Funeral Home after 12 noon Thursday.

Survivors are his wife, Beverly; an uncle, Darwin Lewis of Newton; two aunts, Mrs. Hazel Minear and Mrs. Lawrence McAnelly, both of Newton; and a number of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Mr. Yates, a member of the Moose Lodge, was an employee of the Parsons Co. for 28 years.

The son of Eddie and Glades Lewis Yates, he was born May 12, 1930 in Newton.

He was married to Beverly Eide June 30, 1956 in Marshalltown. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Wed 22 Feb 1978.
