Mrs. Deutsch, 86, Lifetime Resident of County, Dies

Funeral services for Mrs. Ione Deutsch, 86, lifelong resident of Jasper county, will be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon at the Morgan Funeral Home in Newton. Mrs. Deutsch died yesterday evening at her home in northwest Newton after a short illness.

Mrs. Deutsch was born Ione Hickman, the daughter of George and Tamar Hickman, March 11, 1862. She was the widow of William Deutsch, who preceded her in death May 9, 1916.

Surviving her are a son, Arthur Deutsch of Newton; a daughter, Mrs. Fred McClelland of Toldeo, Ohio; a sister, Josephine Hess of Los Angeles, Cal. And three grandchildren, William R. Deutsch of DeKalb, Ill., Joseph Deutsch of Newton and John F. Erdmann of Charleston, W. Va.~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa October 20, 1948, page 1.
