Cora Humes, Former Local Resident, Dies

Mrs. Bennett (Cora) Humes, 70, of Knoxville, a former resident of Newton, died Tuesday evening in Knoxville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.

Survivors are two sons, Francis Humes of rural Newton and the Rev. Edward Humes of Florida; five daughters, Mrs. Cyrus (Judy) Prelow and Mrs. A. L. (Eunetta) Quigley of Knoxville, Mrs. Virginia Harl of Lovilia, Mrs. Willard (Gwen) Quigley of Cedar Falls and Mrs. Clarence (Georgena) Quigley of Sioux City; and a sister, Nora Spidell of Baxter.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Mrs. Humes was a former member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Newton.
