Neil McKee Rites Scheduled for Friday Morning

MONROE - Funeral services for Neil McKee, 90, a longtime resident of Monroe, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Monroe.

The Rev. Jerry Wolcott, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors are his wife, Esther; two daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Mildred) Tool of Monroe and Mrs. Ruth Parsons of Newton; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wade, of Lebanon, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and seven sisters and brothers.

Mr. McKee was a member of the United Methodist Church in Monroe.

A black smith, he had been an employee of the Maytag Co.

The son of David and Alice Reasoner McKee, he was born Feb. 15, 1888 at Knoxville.

He was married to Esther Lust Dec. 30, 1914 in the Tools Chapel Community.

He died Tuesday evening at the Skiff Memorial Hospital. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Thursday 13 Apr 1978.
