Robert Wallace, Former Jasper Resident, Dies

PRAIRIE CITY - Robert L. Wallace, 56, of Janesville, Wis., a former resident of Prairie City and Runnells, died Sunday morning at the Veterans' Administration Hospital in Madison, Wis.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City.

The Rev. Harold Howl, pastor of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints of Grinnell, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

survivors are his wife, Willadean; two sons, Gary and Bobbie, both of Janesville, Wis., a daughter, Mrs. Danial (Marcia) Eppich of Ogden, Utah; and three grandchildren.

Also surviving are four brothers, John of Runnells, Bill of Colfax and Russell and Francis, both of Newton; and three sisters, Mrs. Walter (Clara) Mott and Mrs. Roy (Dortha) Gulling, both of Runnells, and Mrs. Maynard (violet) Bankes of Colfax.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

Mr. Wallace, a veteran of World War II, was a chef at the Holiday Inn in Janesville.

The son of Sim and Mollie Anderson Wallace, he was born Mar. 31, 1921 in Jasper County and attended Runnells schools.

He was married to Willadean Steenhoek April 22, 1944. ~ Newspaper Unknown, possibly The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 6 Feb 1978.
