Mrs. Gilger Dies

Mrs. William (Marian) Gilger, 506 E. 6th St. N., was dead on arrival today at Skiff Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Johnson-Reese Chapel.

Additional services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Jay Funeral Home in Ottumwa.

Friends may call at the Johnson-Reese Chapel after 10 a.m. Thursday. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Wed Feb 1978.

Marian Gilger Services to Be on Friday

Funeral services for Mrs. William Raymond (Marian) Gilger, 67, of 506 E. 6th St. N., a resident of Newton for 12 years, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Johnson-Reese Chapel.

Additional services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Jay Funeral Home in Ottumwa.

Father James E. Leu, assistant pastor of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Newton will conduct services. Burial will be in the Ottumwa Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Johnson-Reese Chapel until time of service.

Memorial contributions to the Heart Fund will be accepted.

Survivors are a son, William Ray of Newton; a son, John of Corydon; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy LaFollette of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Mrs. Gilger, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ottumwa, had been office manager for McCune Insurance Agency in Ottumwa for a number of years.

The daughter of Andrew and Ada Wind, she was born Jan. 27, 911 at Ottumwa, attended Ottumwa schools and Stephen's College in Columbia, Mo., and was graduated from the University of Iowa at Iowa City.

She was married May 11, 1938 at Ottumwa.

She died Wednesday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital. ~ Newspaper unknown, possibly the Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Thur 9 Feb 1978.
