Kitty Hickman services held this morning

Funeral services for Mrs. Earl (Kitty P.) Hickman, 85, of Nelson Manor Nursing Home, a longtime resident of Newton and the Amboy community, were held today at the Wallace Funeral Home.

The Rev. William E. Sexton, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, conducted services. Burial was in the Newton Union Cemetery.

She died Friday morning at the Nelson Manor.

Survivors are a granddaughter, Mrs. Jollene Pieper Angela of Sacramento, Calif.; two grandsons, Tom Pieper of Cedar Rapids and Jim Pieper of Colfax; and a close friend, Mrs. Mable Dammon of Newton.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Lepha Avery of Ventura, Calif., Mrs. Doy White of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Rice (Lilly) Robinson of Sturgeon, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, June 27, 1971, her daughter, Juanita Pieper in 1946; and her brothers, Roy and Gaylord Green.

She was a member of the Amboy Grange and the H. M. Club.

The daughter of Martin and Maggie Caldwell Green, she was born Oct. 10, 1894 near Clark, Mo.

She moved into Newton from the farm in the Amboy Community.

She was married Dec. 25, 1912 at the family home near Clark, Mo. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa, Monday, June 2, 1980, page 5.
