PELLA - Lloyd D. Nolin, 84, of Monroe died Saturday, Feb. 1, at Pella Regional Health Center.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4, 10:30 a.m. at the Monroe United Methodist Church, with Pastor Harold Koughn officiating. Burial will be at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Visitation will be held Monday after 2 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe, where the family will be present from 6 until 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Monroe Emergency Unit or to the Monroe United Methodist Church.

The son of Elza and Anna Haft Nolin, he was born March 20, 1918 in Jasper County. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1936. He married Catherine Ver Heul on March 20, 1939 in Newton. He was a farmer and a member of Tools Chapel Methodist Church and served for one year as president of the Oak Grove Country School Board. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of Monroe; a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Joan Nolin of Altoona, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Janet and Milo Clark and Eileen and Larry Johnson, all of Monroe, and Connie Barr of Newton; 12 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
