Those left to cherish Georgette’s memory are her children, David (Paula) Eaton of State Center, Teresa (Willie) Yeager of Newton and Tom (Jill) Eaton of Marshalltown; three grandchildren, Jennifer Jones of Urbandale, Jeffrey Eaton of Des Moines and Katie (Dave) Williamson of Runnells; four great-grandchildren, Carter and Avery Jones and Bailey and Braxton Williamson; and her sister-in-laws, Ruth DeMeyer of Texas and Letha McClellan of New Jersey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gale in 2001; brothers, Albert and Harry DeMeyer; and sister, Vivian Richardson.

Georgette was a graduate of Newton High School in 1948.

Georgette worked for many years as an Office Associate for Iowa Southern Utilities in Newton and then she worked for Alliant Energy (Iowa Electric Light and Power) in Marshalltown, retiring in June of 1993.

Georgette was a member of the First United Methodist Church and of the United Methodist Women in Marshalltown, and was a member of the Marshalltown Square Dance Club. She loved all her grandchildren; she had enjoyed camping, going cruising, flowers, walking, Christmas and collecting Santa Claus’.
