Vicki J. (Munger) Scarbrough, 48, of 544 S. 13th Ave. E. in Newton died Saturday, Oct. 25, at Skiff Medical Center in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. At the First Presbyterian Church in Newton with the Reverends Tiare and Stephen Mathison-Bowie officiating. Burial will be at Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call after 12 p.m.. Tuesday at the Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton where the family will be available from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to the Animal Rescue League, Hospice of Jasper County Capital Campaign or to the Courthouse Christmas Lighting Project and my be left at the funeral home or at the church the day of the service.

The daughter of Marvin C. and Jo Ann (Vance) Munger, she was born Sept 8, 1955, in Newton. She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1973. On Dec. 20, 1974, she married Robert A. Scarbrough in Newton. She was an office manager for Amazing Awards for five years and worked at Newton Manufacturing for 23 years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Noon Bell Choir, Newton Chapter 100 Order of Eastern Star and a past member of Rainbow. She enjoyed bowling and go-carts and was the head scorer for the Newton Kart Klub Track.

Survivors include her husband; parents, a brother, Steve Munger of Clive; her grandfather, Harry Vance of Newton; and many aunts, uncle and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Aneta Vance, and paternal grandparents, Ernie and Lula Munger. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 27 Oct 2003.
