MARSHALLTOWN – John Perisho, 85, of Marshalltown, father of Audrey Rex and her husband Dennis of Newton, died Friday, Nov. 21 at his home.

Funeral services were held today at the Calvary Baptist Church in Union. Burial was at the Hillside Cemetery in State Center. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Tues 25 Nov 2003.

John Perisho, 85, Marshalltown, died Friday, November 21, 2003 at his home while in the care of his family and the Iowa River Hospice.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 25 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Union with Pastor Roger Crawford and Pastor Greg Boyle officiating. He was laid to rest in the Hillside Cemetery, State Center.

Born June 18, 1918 in LeGrand, he was one of five children born to Mr and Mrs Harold Perisho. He graduated high school and obtained a four-year apprenticeship in tool and die. Mr Perisho was employed for over 25 years at Lennox in the tool and die and had farmed for 13 years prior near Clemons.

In June of 1948, he was united in marriage to Laurena Schaper in Marshalltown. She preceded him in death. On November 30, 1996 he was united in marriage to Claire Casselberry Faye in Marshalltown.

John enjoyed painting, poetry, woodworking and traveling, along with his faith and his family. He was a member of Lennox Pensioners and the Calvary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Claire; daughters Kathleen (James) Cummings of Windsor, Colorado and Audrey (Dennis) Rex of Newton; his step children Charles W (Paulette) Faye III of Heath, Ohio and Charlene (Doug) Johnson of Marshalltown; two grandsons, seven step-grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren and numerous friends. In death he rejoins his parents, wife Laurena and two brothers and two sisters.
