Irene Krumm, Former Jasper Resident, Dies
Funeral services for Mrs. Rudolph (Irene E.) Krumm, 77, of Gilman, a former resident of Newton and Newburg, were held today at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.
The Rev. Don Britt, pastor of the Gilman Community Church, conducted services. Burial was in the Westfield Cemetery, southwest of Grinnell.
Survivors are her husband; a son, Eugene Krumm of Wellsville, N. Y.; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Vivian) Crow of Marshalltown, Mrs. Daryl (Donna) Norris of Kellogg and Mrs. Bill (Gwen) ward of Saint Anthony; 11 grandchildren; and a brother, Myron Woodrow of Newton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Shirley, in infancy.
The daughter of Fred and Ella Guthrie Woodrow, she was Born Mar. 26, 1899 in Newton, attended Newton Community High School and was graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor's degree.
A principal of Denver High School for 5 years, she had been a cashier for the Newton Telephone Co. for 2 years. She was married June 24, 1929 at the Little Brown Church near Nashua.
Mrs. Krumm resided on a farm near Newburg from 1944 until moving into Gilman in 1950. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa 3 May 1776.
