SEARSBORO – Leo Maxwell Watson, 89, of Searsboro died Sunday, Jan. 27, at Friendship Manor in Grinnell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell.

The Rev. Don Job, pastor of the Searsboro Friends Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in the Searsboro Cemetery.

Memorial in his name may be left at the funeral home.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. Today and all day Tuesday.

Survivors are his wife, Mamie; a daughter, Jan Robertson of Newton; three brothers, Alvah and Louis, both of Searsboro, and Robey of Montezuma; and a sister, Alice Johnson of Searsboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Watson, who farmed until retiring in 1982, was a member of the Poweshiek County Farm Bureau and attended the Searsboro Friends Church.

The son of Fred and Martha Pratt Watson, he was born March 22, 1901 in Searsboro and attended Searsboro schools.

He was married to Mamie Brignon May 28, 1935 in Montezuma. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 28 Jan 1991.
