Betty L. Harper

Betty Lou Lamb Harper, 58, of 906 S. 5th Ave. E., a resident of Newton since 1984, died Friday evening, Jan. 4, at her home following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Michael Orthel, pastor of the Colfax United Methodist Church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Mc Keever Cemetery, north of Colfax.

Friends may call at the funeral home.

Memorials to the activity fund at the Jasper County Care Facility, southeast of Newton, will be accepted.

Survivors are her husband, Ben; three sons, Mike Kintz of Cheney, Kan., Ray Haney of Melbourne and Check Cisler of Newton; two daughters, Pam Haney of Mingo and Debbie Musser of Newton; her parents, Milo and Anna Mae Olson Lamb of Colfax; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Omer Lamb of Mingo and Larry Lamb of Colfax.

Mrs. Harper, a member of the United Methodist Church, was a licensed practical nurse at the Jasper County Care Facility and formerly at Nelson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born March 26, 1932 in Story County and attended Boone schools. She was graduated from Colfax Community High School and studied nursing at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny.

She was married to Ben A. Harper July 28, 1984 in Newton. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 7 Jan 1991.
