MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. - W. A. Hedman of Mountain Home, Ark., 90, a former resident of Newton, died Tuesday afternoon, May 14, at the hospital in Mountain Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. At the East Side Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mountain Home.

Roller Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society or the East Side Baptist Church in Mountain Home will be accepted.

Survivors are two sons, Vernon of Mount Pleasant, Tenn., and Dean of Des Moines; a granddaughter; a brother, Roy, of Montana, three sisters, Ada Cook and Olive Vawter, both of Kansas, and Frances Arnone of California; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, in 1982 and a brother, Harvey.

He was employed as a press setup man in the machine shop at the Maytag Co., for 39 ½ years prior to his retirement.

The son of Olaf and Nellie Olson Hedman, he was born Feb. 16, 1901 on a farm north of Clay Center, Kan. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Wed 15 May 1991
