DALLAS, Texas - Funeral services for Lyle. N. "Bud" Doane, 71, of Dallas, Texas, a former longtime resident of Newton, were held Thursday, Jan. 17, in Dallas.

Mr. Doane died Monday at Garland, Texas.

Survivors are a daughter, Vicki Mayhan of Richardson, Texas; two grandchildren; a brother, Charlie Doane of Newton and a sister, Harriett Tharp of Newton.

An army veteran of World War II, he was associated with Doane Insurance, Herb's Cities Service and Winpower Manufacturing co. while a resident of Newton.

He was a systems coordinator for the Rockwell International Division of Collins Radio after moving to Dallas.

The son of Harry C. and Marie Zimmerli Doane, he was born May 1, 1919 in Newton and was a 1937 graduate of Newton Community High School. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Fri 18 Jan 1991.
