PRAIRIE CITY, Iowa – Dorothy J. Steenhoek, 72, of Prairie City, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, at Clearview Manor in Prairie City.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Christian Reformed Church in Prairie City with Sheldon Starkenburg, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Friends may call at the Walters Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City after noon Thursday when the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 pm.

Memorials to the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella will be accepted.

Born Sept. 29, 1924, in Otley, she was the daughter of Henry H. and Bertha Mol Keuning.

She married Lawrence Steenhoek April 20, 1942, in Kaloka (Kahoka?), MO.

A longtime resident of Prairie City, she was a member of the Christian Reformed Church in Prairie City.

Survivors include her husband; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry D. and Fran of Pella, Lloyd and Donna of Tempe, Ariz., and Gene A. and Karen of Prairie City; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Dec 1996.
