Gayln Wiese Loehr

WILDWOOD, Fla. - Gayln Wiese Loehr, 82, of Wildwood, Fla. Formerly of Newton, died of cancer, Wednesday, Aug. 6, in Fort Collins, Colo.

The body was cremated. The cremains will be buried with his wife's cremains. She died Jan. 13, 1996. No services are scheduled.

Burial of the cremains will be at Newton Union Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials to Hospice of Sumter County Florida in care of the Reese Funeral Home in Newton, will be accepted.

The son of Cloyce and Elsie Wiese Loehr, he was born June 7, 1915, in Lone Tree. He receivfed his degree in business administration from Iowa Wesleyan University. He was a graduate of San Francisco Mortuary College in California.

He married Evelyn Barton Dec. 29, 1946, in San Francisco, Calif.

A resident of Newton for 30 years, he movd to Florida 13 years ago.

Mr. Loehr and his brother owned and operated the Morgan-Loehr Funeral Home in Newton for 30 years. He was a member of the Mariner Shriner, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine, the Elks and was the past president of Rotary and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Raymond S. and Denise of Dallas, Texas and Kent B. and Nancy of Fort Collins, Colo.; three grandchldren; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Loehr of Newton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a brother. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Fri 8 Aug 1997.
