Alice M. “Pat” Robison Bates, 80, of 1122 W. 17th St. S., a resident of Newton since 1941, died Tuesday morning, March 12, at Skiff Medical Center from complications of a stroke.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home.

The Rev. Eldon Pals of Newton, retired pastor, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 11 a.m. Wednesday. Visitation with the family will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials in her name may be left at the funeral home.

Survivors are her husband, Ralph; a son, Richard A. “Dick” Lincoln of Newton; a daughter, Rosemary (Mrs. Jerry) Benson of Grinnell; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Lenas Porter of Grinnell; and a brother, Leonard Robison Jr. of Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson.

Mrs. Bates, a homemaker, had lived in the Grinnell area prior to moving to Newton.

The daughter of Leonard and Rose Keenan Robison sr., she was born April 27, 1910 in Grinnell and was graduated from Grinnell Community High School.

She was married to Ralph Bates Sept. 19, 1942 in Unionville, Mo. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Tues 12 Mar 1991.
