Funeral services for Sally L. Gearhart Dahlin, 63, of 703 E. 4 1/2 St. S., were held today at the Baxter Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Gene Bucklin officiating.

Burial was at Restland Cemetery in Baxter.

Memorials to Hospice of Jasper County will be accepted.

She died Friday, June 20, at her home.

The daughter of Loren and Flossie Johnson Gearhart, she was born Jan. 14, 1934, in Baxter. She attended Baxter schools.

She married Robert Bollhoefer and was later divorced. She married Melvin E. Dahlin Sept. 21, 1973, in Newton.

Mrs. Dahlin was employed as a certified nurses aid by Skiff Medical Center in Newton and Iowa Home Care.

Survivors include her husband; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mikeal and Linda Bollhoefer, Chris and Karen Bollhoefer and Kelly and Claudia Bollhoefer, all of Newton; a step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Daniel and Paula Dahlin of State Center; a daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Daniel Gudith of Marshalltown; two step-daughters and step-sons-in-law, Melody and Gary Landgrebe and Amy and time Clark, all of Newton; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Donnell Johnston of Baxter and Carol and Scotty Trogden of Champaign, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and a sister. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa June 1997.
