Raymond Dale Bell, 73, of Colfax died of a respiratory ailment Thursday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax, with burial in McKeever Cemetery.
Mr. Bell was born in Kalona and lived in Prairie City before moving to Colfax in 1966. He was a retired agricultural chemical dealer and farmer and had served in the Army. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Colfax, Preston Masonic Lodge of Prairie City, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine in Des Moines and Order of the Easter Star in Newton.
Surviving are his wife, Mildred; a son, John of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Marilyn Pierce of Colfax; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to his church. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Fri 15 Aug 1997.
