Helen Vodochodsky Brue, 77, of 724 W. 4th St. N. died Saturday, March 23, at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines of cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Nazarene.

The Rev. Bill Van Patten, pastor of the church, will conduct services. Burial will be in Newton Memorial park.

Friends may call at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Visitation with the family will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials to the Church of the Nazarene will be accepted.

Survivors are her husband, Floyd; a brother, tony Vodochodsky of San Antonio, Texas; and two sisters, Anna (Mrs. Glen) Perry and Agnes (Mrs. Charles "Shorty") Brown, both of Newton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Marion Dew, June 14, 1990.

Mrs. Brue, a member of the Church of the Nazarene, was a homemaker.

The daughter of Joseph and Frances Schubert Vodochodsky, she was born May 25, 1913 in Quarry and attended Quarry schools.

She was married to Floyd Brue Aug. 20, 1938 in Kirksville, Mo. ~ The Newton Daily News, Newton, Iowa Mon 25 Mar 1991.
