Albert P. Dow Dies Yesterday

An Aged Resident of Northeast Newton – Veteran of Civil War – Leaves Wife and Large Family of Sons and Daughters

After several weeks of illness against which he was greatly handicapped by reason of advanced years Albert P. Dow passed away at 9:20 o’clock yesterday morning at his home in northeast Newton. The funeral will be held from the late home at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning and burial will be made in the Newton cemetery.

The late Mr. Dow was born February 25, 1844, in Ohio, his family being among the early pioneers who came west from Ohio and Pennsylvania. He has been a hard working man all his life and his bereaved wife and family of sons and daughters will receive the sympathy of many. The deceased served three years in the Union army and participated in many of the more desperate engagements of the Civil war. ~ The Newton Daily News, August 13, 1917, page 2.

Note: Mr. Dow is buried in the Newton Union Cemetery.
