Gwendolyn Marcsisak, age 94 of Colfax, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Funeral services were Monday at Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax with burial at the Colfax Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Gwendolyn Marcsisak Memorial fund and condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.
The daughter of Ira Jacob and Lavona (Hedrick) Jontz, Gwen was born on November 21, 1917, in Lorimor, Iowa. On March 13, 1938, she was united in marriage to Carl Marcsisak in Nevada, Iowa. Gwen was a member of the Colfax United Methodist Church. She loved her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Terry (Wavell) Marcsisak of Lincoln, Nebraska, Gene “Rob” Marcsisak of Newton, and Cathy Chandler of Urbandale; 14 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, a son, Richard, three brothers, Jacob, Ira, and Elmer and a sister, Nondas.
